A strong trio: manufacturer, distributor and end customer working together
The success story begins with an idea from ERIKS, our long-standing trading partner: For the end customer Starrag - a leading global manufacturer of precision machine tools - the existing tube connection solution was to be replaced by our STAUFF Connect system.
Targeted discussions and technical advice from ERIKS, in particular from Account Manager Markus Nölle, aroused Starrag's interest. This resulted in a partnership between STAUFF as the manufacturer, ERIKS as the distributor and Starrag as the end customer.
From Kanban warehouse to changeover: project start with ERIKS
A key step was the rapid re-categorisation and pricing of the existing Kanban warehouse by Pascal Blöte from the Fluid Power business unit at ERIKS. This created the basis for the technical and logistical changeover.
The first milestone was the joint visit to STAUFF in Werdohl. Sales Manager Marco Wyrwinski and Account Manager Markus Nölle accompanied the Starrag representatives in person to present our production and the advantages of the STAUFF Connect system directly on site.
Technical advantage thanks to zinc/nickel coating
Starrag was particularly impressed by our special friction coefficient improver in the sealer of our zinc/nickel coating: It eliminates the need for additional lubrication on external threads and cones, thus offering not only technical advantages but also sustainable added value.
The direct experience on site and the personal dialogue contributed to Starrag's decision to switch to STAUFF Connect.
Training as the key to successful implementation
The next step was for STAUFF to organise a practical in-house training course for 13 fitters at Starrag. It was conducted by André Degen from our technical team. The training was an important contribution to the successful introduction of the new system.
The changeover is now taking place gradually and is being closely monitored by our support team - in particular by Axel Krüger and André Degen from STAUFF.
Success factors of our cooperation
This project impressively demonstrates how good preparation, transparent communication and partnership-based cooperation can create sustainable added value.
The interaction between STAUFF, ERIKS and Starrag was crucial to the success of the project - a real example of cooperation in action along the value chain.
