How were STAUFF clamps used in this unusual application?

In this application, Aluminium Clamps from the Heavy Series were used to securely fasten a custom-built bike rack to the roof of a classic vintage car. As conventional rack systems were not suitable for this vehicle, a bespoke solution was developed that combines stability, safety and ease of installation.

The example submitted impressively demonstrates how industrial components can be flexibly adapted to completely new areas of application – even in a private setting.

Why standard bike racks often don’t work with classic cars

Classic cars differ significantly from modern vehicles in many respects. This applies not only to design and technology, but also to the available mounting options.

The example shown is based on a bespoke design that utilises the vehicle’s existing structures. The bike rack was installed on the roof and securely fastened using clamps.
